Adel Khaled is currently pursuing his masters in software engineering at University of Alberta. For the past 4 years, he has held the position of technical manager and software architect at Netways an e-Solution company based in Riyadh. Adel has an extensive experience with .NET framework and has been working with .NET since early releases. He has over 7 years of experience in software development with Microsoft technologies developing client-server, windows based applications, web services and distributed applications. He has implemented many projects using Microsoft technologies such as Content Management Server, SharePoint Portal Server, Microsoft Message Queuing, MS SQL Server and BizTalk. Before moving to .NET, he has worked in C++ building windows applications for Supply Chain and Customer Management in an Italian company called TXT.

N/A Daniel Carbajal, Alberta EUB

Daniel is a senior solutions architect with over 19 years experience developing business applications. In the last 10 years he has developed large n-tier enterprise applications using VB/COM+, BEA Weblogic J2EE, JSP, ASP.NET, Windows clients and .NET distributed technologies.

Involved early with .NET since the 1.0 beta 1 release, he has been presenting lectures in .NET technologies since November 2001 at Universities, Institutes, Microsoft Events, and User Groups. Daniel founded the Calgary .NET User Group and he’s the current president. He has received five Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) Awards since 2002 and holds MCP, MCAD, MCSD.Net, and MCT certifications. He has a Bachelor degree in Electronics Engineering and a Master Degree in Computer Science.

N/A Fred Gravel, City of Lethbridge

Fred started building applications on a Tandy CoCo III in the early 80’s after teaching himself basic programming skills and then continued to develop using Assembler, C, C++ and VB on a part-time basis through the years until the Y2K problem raised its ugly head in 1997. He then formalized his education with a Business Systems Analyst Degree through the CDI College of Business and Technology.

In May of 1998, Fred was brought in under contract for the City of Lethbridge to work on their Y2K problem and was hired full time in 2000 where he’s still currently employed as a Corporate Systems Analyst / Senior .Net Developer.

In mid 2005, Fred founded the Lethbridge Dot Net User Group where he currently serves as the Group Leader.

John Bristowe is a Developer Evangelist with Microsoft Canada based in Calgary, Alberta. John is an experienced speaker and frequently presents Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) events across Canada. John co-hosts a podcast entitled, "Plumbers at Work" (www.plumbersatwork.com) which features members of the Canadian .NET development community talking about technology. Prior to joining Microsoft, John was a member of the Microsoft Regional Director (RD) and Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) programs.
